NewsTalk 790 WAYY serves the Chippewa Valley with 5,000 watts of power, broadcasting 24 hours a day. NewsTalk 790 is Eau Claire\'s 1st radio station, having signed on in 1937. Great local and national radio personalities since then have included Bob Hope, Burns and Allen, Fran Booton and Peter Murphy. AM 790 has also brought you news such as Pearl Harbor, Hiroshima, D-Day in World War II, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the Challenger disaster, Oklahoma City, and the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

On NewsTalk 790 you will find the area\'s largest radio news staff, plus coverage nationally from ABC News and statewide with the Wisconsin Radio Network, and also features 24-hour weather information from the WEAU-TV SkyWarn 13 Weather Department. Since 1990, NewsTalk 790 has delivered the best in area talk radio, which is featured today from 5am-7pm weekdays, with sports talk radio weeknights and weekends.
